Terms of use

The simple rules for using uResume, written to be understood without lawyers.

Last updated: October 21, 2026

01Acceptance

By creating an account or using uResume you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

02What uResume is

uResume is a free tool for creating resumes: you fill in a form, see a live preview and download a PDF generated with LaTeX or share a public link. The service is under active development and may change, have bugs or be interrupted.

03Your content

The content of your CVs is yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store it, process it and display it as you configure it (for example, generating your PDF or serving your public link).

You are responsible for the information you include being truthful and for having the right to use it. uResume does not verify the content of resumes.

04Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Publish illegal, misleading or defamatory content, or content that infringes third-party rights.
  • Use the service to send spam, impersonate others or collect other people’s data.
  • Attempt unauthorized access, overload or interfere with the service, including mass automated PDF generation.

We may suspend or remove content and accounts that break these rules.

06Availability and changes

We try to keep uResume always available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may modify, limit or remove features, and we recommend downloading or exporting your data regularly.

07Free software

uResume's code is free and distributed under the MIT license. You can view, copy and modify it on GitHub. These terms apply to the hosted service and do not limit the rights that license gives you over the code.

08No warranty and liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not ensure your CV will get interviews or a job, or that any applicant tracking system (ATS) will read it correctly; the ATS score is only guidance.

To the extent permitted by law, uResume and its author will not be liable for data loss, lost profits or other damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service.

09Termination

You can stop using uResume and delete your account whenever you want from Settings, which deletes your CVs and turns off your links. We may suspend access if you break these terms or to protect the service.

10Changes and contact

We may update these terms; relevant changes will be announced on the site and continued use implies acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of Chile.
